THEREFORE, EVERY TRC STUDENT …  

 
That a strong enrichment offer is a vital component of every student’s programme.   

This is because it helps students to: 

 

 Will participate in the London Interdisciplinary School Interdisciplinary problem-solving curriculum and University of Sheffield AMRC work-related learning project.    
  • Develop their interests;   
  • grow their social and support networks;  
  • and develop the life and work skills and confidence that will support them in adulthood. 

 

 Will choose to engage in other extra and super curricular activities and events because they understand the vital importance of these to support (1) their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and (2) develop their skills (including curiosity) to secure their next best step. 
Every student should graduate from TRC having secured their next best step, whether this is an Apprenticeship, Employment or Further/Higher Education course 
  • Has a  named Careers Advisor for 1:1 appointments  
  • Has a named Work Placement Officer for 1:1 appointments  
  • Undertakes work placement (in person or virtual)  
  • Engages in work-related learning, both through their subjects and the wider college Employability Curriculum.  
  • Benefits from our 200+ (and growing) partnerships with Apprenticeship providers, Employers and Further/Higher Education providers.  
  • Records their experiences in a digital portfolio and reflects on their progress towards the TRC Top 10 Futures Skills/Attitudes so that they understand employability language and can sell their taught skills as sought skills.  
  • Has an inclusive and bespoke educational pathway based on their aspirations and abilities. 

 
Every student should have the package of pastoral support they require to reach their potential. 
  • Has named progress tutor for 1:1 and  group tuition.  
  • Has wrap-around access to the Learning Resource Centre (LRC)  
  • Has the opportunity to apply for a laptop if they do not have access to a device at home.  
  • Has access to TRC Connect (mental wellbeing support).  
  • Has access to Safeguarding Officers.  
  • Has access to Student Services.  
  • In line with need, has access to the Centre for Learning and Study Skills (CLASS) and TR Active.  
  • In line with need, has access to financial support. 

 
In maintaining a college environment and culture that develop an appreciation of civic responsibility; diversity, equality and inclusion; a clear understanding of British values; and resilience to radicalisation.  Feels safe in college and is prepared for life as a citizen in modern Britain. 
In offering a broad range of Level 2 and / or Level 3 Academic, Technical and Occupational courses in line with both student career choice, aspiration and interests as well as local, regional and national skills needs.  (Subject to meeting entry criteria) has / is given the opportunity to achieve GCSE English and Mathematics qualifications at the appropriate level (4 / >4) for their career choice and aspiration.  

  

(Subject to meeting entry criteria) has a broad range of Level 3 qualifications open to them that are mapped against career progression pathways to enable them to secure their next best step (Apprenticeship, Employment or Further/Higher Education).
