Spanish Evening Classes

Whether you fancy learning Spanish for fun, holidays, work or simply out of interest for Spain and/or other Spanish-speaking countries, we have the right course for you.

 

SPANISH BEGINNERS

This course is suitable for learners with very little or no prior knowledge of the language. Your tutor will introduce you to the language and assume no prior study.

You will study topics such as:

  • Greetings; introducing yourself and others
  • Talking about yourself, your family, pets and friends
  • Ordering drinks and food in a bar/restaurant
  • Shopping for food, drinks, souvenirs and clothes
  • Asking and answering simple questions
  • Hometown and directions

Each topic will help you to increase your knowledge of vocabulary and expressions, through reading and listening exercises, role-plays and other pair work activities, pronunciation tasks, etc.

The course will also give you:

  • An understanding of the Spanish culture and some of the traditions in Spain and other Spanish speaking countries.
  • Confidence in dealing with basic situations when you are abroad

 

SPANISH IMPROVERS

This language course is for those learners who have attended a beginners class of our evening class programme or a beginners course elsewhere. It is also suitable for those who studied the language at school some time ago and need a refresher.

You will study topics such as:

  • Revision and Extension of Beginners topics
  •  House and hometown
  • Daily Routines
  • The time
  • Leisure Activities
  • The weather
  • Future plans

The course will also help you develop:

  • An understanding of the Spanish culture and some of the traditions in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries.
  • Confidence in dealing with certain situations when you are abroad.

 

SPANISH INTERMEDIATE

This course is for those learners who have completed at least 2 years of our evening class programme (beginners and improvers). It is also suitable for those learners who have completed a GCSE or equivalent at grade 4-5 (C grade).

You will study topics such as:

  • Revision and Extension of Beginners & Improvers topics
  • Your personal hobbies
  • Past and future holidays
  • Talking about events in the past
  • Food and recipes

Each topic studied will help you to increase your fluency and confidence when using Spanish. You will learn some more Spanish grammar and vocabulary as well as further develop your knowledge of life in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries.

 

ADVANCED SPANISH

This language course is for those learners who have an A Level qualification or equivalent. It is also for those who have studied the language for several years and have a good knowledge of the vocabulary and the grammar of the language beyond GCSE level. If you are interested in joining an advanced class, please contact us for more information.

The focus of this course is on maintaining the advanced language skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking), as well as on the consolidation grammar.

This course will cover topics such as the cultural heritage of the country – festivals, gastronomy, art, film, and problem-solving situations (doctors, pharmacy, police, bank, etc). Other topics mutually negotiated between the tutor and the course students may also be part of the course.

You will develop a greater in-depth knowledge and understanding of contemporary society and culture of Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries.
