You will study a variety of units including: the different job roles and functions that people perform at work and what different businesses do; business finance – the main costs and revenues of businesses and what affects the profit they make; developing advertising and promotions for businesses and producing a business plan outlining how to set up a small business. You will also take part in customer service role plays and produce presentations, letters, business documents and formal reports – all skills vital for employment or further study.
Day trips to businesses such as Manchester Airport.
Approximately £20 per trip.
Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction* awards are gained through the production of a coursework portfolio (including role plays, presentations, written reports, leaflets and promotional materials) and 2 examined units. A full pass equates to two GCSEs at Grade C or above.
Please note to progress to Level 3 you must pass the external externally assessed units.
