Is used as a means to control someone’s behaviour in order to protect what they perceive to be cultural or religious beliefs / honours. It can include various forms of abuse including physical, sexual, psychological, emotional and financial. Often going against families beliefs / culture or religion can lead to abuse or violence, such as dating someone your family do not approve of / having sex before marriage / disagreeing with your family over beliefs.
