Ex TRC Students

All requests for a UCAS reference by ex-students must be received by Wednesday 10th January 2024 to guarantee that a college reference can be be updated and submitted by the 31st January 2024 deadline.


If you are an ex- student applying for UCAS you should email careers@trc.ac.uk with the subject title ‘EX TRC Student – UCAS Reference Request’. In the email please provide:

  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Year that you completed your studies at TRC
  • Details of the course that you are applying for at University
  • Information on any achievements during a gap year


UCAS will ask you to supply a name and address for your reference details –please include the following information so that a reference request to this college can be generated by UCAS:

Once you have sent your UCAS application form off to UCAS they will get in touch with the college to request a reference. We will aim to supply this within 5 working days of receiving the request, but please be aware this may be longer at busy periods.


All requests will be actioned in date order of when the request is received into the careers@trc.ac.uk account.



Key points:

  • You will apply as an independent student, so you do not need to put in a buzzword.
  • We only provide a reference for up to 3 years after you have left TRC
  • You can request for a member of the careers team to review your personal statement, this review will be via email and can only be a maximum of twice per applicant.
