Ofsted have given Thomas Rotherham College an Outstanding judgement. Inspectors from Ofsted rated the College as ‘Outstanding’ – the highest grade possible – in five out of six areas of inspection, including Outstanding for ‘Overall Effectiveness’. Click Here

We want you to make the most of the time that you spend at the College. As well as giving you the opportunity to achieve high academic standards, we also offer a range of additional activities to complement the academic programme.

These activities are offered at different times throughout the year; some may last all year, while others may last only a few weeks. Some activities are available only in timetabled blocks, but many are available at other times, including lunchtimes. The activities available give you the flexibility to mix and match activities to fit in with your academic programme, and will give you the opportunity to meet new people, try something new and maybe even learn new skills.

There is a varied programme of additional courses and activities. Some are closely linked to academic areas, including the Medical, Dentistry and Veterinary Society, and the Humanities Society. Other activities include the college production, debating society, chess club, book group, British Sign Language, mindfulness and meditation, Pride club, women’s self-defence, film club, and more! We also have growing links with the Rotherham Hospital Charity, providing plenty of volunteering opportunities in our local community.

You will be provided with details of the activities soon after you enrol at the College. If you think there are other activities that could be offered, especially ones that you would like to help to introduce or to lead, just let us know!
