Child Exploitation

Child exploitation is a type of child abuse. When a child or young person is exploited they are groomed by criminals. They often buy their way in to build your trust physically and emotionally, money, presents, drugs or alcohol, affection or perceived status. This is used to manipulate and then they convince you to do something for them.

They may get you to move or sell drugs (Child Criminal Exploitation) or force you in to performing sexual acts (Child sexual exploitation). Sometimes you could be taken out of the area to other parts of the country and forced to do criminal activity (County Lines).

You may not realise this is happening, but if you are often the criminals will instil fear by threatening you or your loved ones.
