Celebrating Collaboration During National Volunteering Week!
We’re proud to celebrate our growing partnership with Voluntary Action Rotherham (VAR), developed through our shared commitment to Top 10 Skill #10 – Global Citizenship & Civic Responsibility.
What began as a mutual goal — VAR seeking to increase engagement from 16–25 year olds, and us looking to strengthen volunteering pathways for our students — has grown into a truly impactful collaboration:
✨ VAR joined us as guest speakers to explore the value of volunteering and third sector careers with our Kairos High Achievers cohort
✨ Together, we’ve embedded their insights into our Futures tutorial programme, helping students link labour market insights, skills gaps, and post-18 pathways including UCAS, apprenticeships and CV-building
✨ The partnership has supported our promotion of youth social action during National Volunteering Week
✨ Two students completed work experience with VAR to co-create the Rotherham Volunteering Week celebration, engaging directly with civic stakeholders
✨ Two additional students were invited to attend the celebration at Rotherham Minster, where they gave powerful public speeches about their volunteering experiences – alongside the Mayor and other community voices
This partnership reflects the best of what can happen when education and the community come together with a shared purpose. Thank you to Voluntary Action Rotherham for your openness, collaboration and belief in the potential of young people. We’re excited for what’s still to come. ❤️
