College Attendance

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to maintaining excellent attendance at Thomas Rotherham College. Regular attendance is essential for students’ academic progress, personal development, and overall success.

As expected during the winter months, seasonal illnesses are circulating. To support families, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has published advice on how to reduce the spread of these illnesses. We encourage you to follow this guidance to help keep everyone in our college community as healthy as possible.

We would also like to remind you of NHS advice regarding when a student is too unwell to attend college. In most cases, students can attend with a mild cough or cold. However, if they have a fever or symptoms such as diarrhoea and vomiting, they should stay at home until they recover. Please avoid staying off college on a precautionary basis unless directed by a healthcare professional.

If you’re unsure, the NHS website offers useful information on managing common illnesses and when it’s appropriate to remain at home.

Thank you for your support in helping us to maintain a healthy and focused learning environment for all.
