Success for TRC students in the RCS Chemistry Olympiad

Huge congratulations go to two of our A Level Chemistry students who have achieved incredible success by scoring highly in The RSC Chemistry Olympiad.

The RSC Chemistry Olympiad is a highly challenging leading chemistry competition aimed at 16-19 year old students, which goes well above and beyond what is studied at A Level. The competition, which is run annually, is designed to challenge and test students of their knowledge of chemistry in real-world situations, whilst developing their critical thinking.

TRC students sat the 2-hour exam for Round 1 in January and only the top 4 students from the UK got to progress to Round 2.

TRC Student Cerys easily achieved the Bronze certificate, just a couple of marks away from silver, and Rowan achieved the Silver certificate.

Teacher of Chemistry, Laura Stanley, said, “They’ve both done fantastically well for themselves and are a huge credit to the Chemistry department and the wider college.”

Head of College, Joel Wirth, presented the certificates to the students and congratulated them on their outstanding achievement.
