Success for TRC Biologists
Three A Level Biology students are celebrating at Thomas Rotherham College having gained medals in the British Biology Olympiad, run by the Royal Society of Biology.
The British Biology Olympiad (BBO) challenges and motivates students with an interest in biology. The competition allows students to demonstrate their knowledge by offering a wide-ranging syllabus. Gifted and talented students are invited to take part in the national competition by completing two on-line exams in April.
Rahul Soni gained a Silver medal, whilst classmates Katie Turner and Thomas White received Bronze medals, which were presented to them by TRC Deputy Principal, Dave Shaw.
Head of the Faculty of Science, Gary Hodson said, “The Biology staff are so proud of their achievements. The students did extremely well, gaining a medal puts them in the top 10% of entrants, which is made of exceptional Biology students nationally. We now look forward to congratulating them on excellent A level results in the summer.”
